Multi-lingual dictionary

The reason we dote on this program is the ease of search. One can wade through enormous data across languages in a matter of seconds. The online program gives us scope for periodic upgrading which is not possible in conventional printing. The most significant aspect of this dictionary is the ‘go green’ revolution. One multi-lingual dictionary comprising twenty languages replaces 380 huge volumes in a library. See the amount of money and space saved.
The dictionary is going to be the place for lexicographer’s treasure hunt. A word like ‘ragi’ in Kannada, ‘blob’ in English or ‘kodon’ in Hindi may not offer any equivalent word in other languages. It is for the lexicographers of the languages to search for or create appropriate terms so as to enrich their languages. We have kept in mind many other useful features of the dictionary.
Though we have planned the program on a sound footing the full dictionary might take a long time to come into shape as we are constrained by resources as this ambitious program of Lingua Net is a vast one as well. However it will be our endeavor to follow the principle of ‘slow and steady’.
